A) What are your favorite lines in the lyrics? Why?
"Now we see everything that's going wrong
With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don't have the means
To rise above and beat it"
Because my generation is really witnessing this situation, especially in Brazil, where we see that everything is going wrong and with those who lead it, but we really expect Brazil and the world to change ... for the better.
B)What are your favorite protest songs? What makes those songs special to you?
My protest favorite this is, because it show how TV is used as a means of alienating the population, is special because it is a type of manifestation to alert the population of the types of problem that society is facing.
"And when you trust your television
What you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information
They can bend it all they want"
C) Can protest songs change the world for the better?
We deal daily with the vastness of simultaneous conflicts that hinder our thinking by diverting our thinking from what we would really like to think. But so we lead, carrying joys and sorrows in the heart, traversing the world in search of meaning and action. If a song can help us to understand our feelings a bit better, and with it we get some of the tension from day to day, then I'm sure that music has an influence on the change of a society, far beyond the cultural factor.
